At the core of their efforts are the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria, a set of voluntary principles that provide a framework for the sustainability of tourism businesses across the globe. The Travel Foundation
The Travel Foundation was founded in 2003 as an independent UK charity which helps the travel industry understand, manage and take effective action on sustainable tourism. They exist to protect and enhance the environment and improve the well-being of destination communities, as well as the holiday experience for visitors. We have a UK board director on the trustee board of the Travel Foundation and many of our businesses work closely with the Travel Foundation on destination projects. To date we have donated over £2.5 million. Futouris

In 2011 for the fourth consecutive year, TUI GROUP was featured in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index. TUI GROUP is the only tour operator to be featured in this index and our score places us in the top 10% of the FTSE 350 for our approach to carbon disclosure and performance.
The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity working throughout the world to stop individual wild animal suffering and protect threatened species in the wild. We have been working with the Born Free Foundation since 1995, in order to understand and identify practices which pose a risk to both the safety of the public and to animal welfare in the destinations to which we send customers. Together with ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents), other industry partners and the Born Free Foundation we have developed the Travelife Animal Attractions Handbook. To date we have donated over £3 million. The Code
The code of conduct for the protection of children from sexual exploitation in travel and tourism is an industry driven responsible tourism initiative in collaboration with ECPAT International, funded by UNICEF and supported by UNWTO. In 2010 our Mainstream businesses signed up to the six criteria of the Code and TUI GROUP is a Top Member. Our Group-wide Child Protection Policy can be viewed here. Street Child World Cup
Millions of vulnerable and marginalised children throughout the world today are left with no option but to live on the streets. The Street Child World Cup aims to give these forgotten children a voice and to campaign for their rights, with the main event being the Street Child World Cup football tournament in Rio, Brazil in 2014, where teams of street children from 20 countries will compete. The Specialist & Activity Sector has selected Street Child World Cup as their chosen charity for the next three years and colleagues will be involved in raising as much money as possible. One of our first major fundraising initiatives is the ‘SAS 100 challenge’, where 100 colleagues will pledge to raise £1,000 either individually or as a team for this worthy cause.
Other examples of working with stakeholders can be found within the ‘Priorities’ area.
